Shigayama Bunko (Literature Archives)
The works by and the associated materials for the approximately 150 intellectuals, who loved Shiga, are collected and displayed here. This modern wooden house in the Western style is a restored house of the old and noble Shibusawa family.
Entrance fee: adult 310 yen, children 160 yen/ Open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., closed on Thursdays only during winter (December - March)

Gosetsu-no Yakata
The building has been moved to this location from Matsunoyama-machi in Niigata prefecture, which is one of the areas of great snowfall in Japan. In this 150 year-old house, which once belonged to a wealthy farmer, the display of folk custom materials tell the traditional life in snow country.

Igaya Memorial Hall
This is a memorial museum for Igaya Chiharu, the first Japanese skier to get a silver medal in the winter Olympics, and his parents. The display describes the life of the Igaya family as well as the development of the ski.

Shiga-kogen Roman Museum
The exhibition consists of the works by Kodama Katei, a Yamanouchi-born artist in one of the Chinese landscape painting schools, roman glass, antique Turkish textiles such as carpet, Edo glass, as well as Japanese colored woodblock print, glass, and dishes in the 19th to early 20th century.
Entrance fee: adult 500 yen, elementary and junior high school student 300 yen (group discount 50 yen each for 20 or more)/ Open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Admission closed at 4:30 p.m.), closed on Thursdays between November 21 and April 20, the year-end, New Year holidays
